Before your first semester, you must have your French writing and speaking skills assessed. This helps us to place you in the correct French-as-a-second-language courses (FLS) and provides you with a complete linguistic profile.
The results of the Immersion Writing and Speaking Assessment do not affect admission into a regular program of study, but the assessment is mandatory for admission to French Immersion. You should do it as soon as you have passed the Immersion Admissions Test and accepted an offer of admission from uOttawa. It is important that both the Immersion Admissions Test and Immersion Writing and Speaking Assessment be completed prior to course registration so that we can provide you with the most effective immersion study plan for your skill level.
